Rissa is an established blogger who needed a custom WordPress teacher blog. She already had a good idea of her brand identity, but was ready for an updated look and the power of WordPress.
Services Used:
I am completely in love with my new website! Christi was able to take my vision and make it happen in the most beautiful way! Her guidance throughout the process was invaluable and she easily collaborated with me to find the look I was going for. This type of project relies on swift and productive communication and in every instance, this was the case. The whole process was such a positive experience, and I would highly recommend Christi for any project you need!

Before Blogger Blog
Rissa already had a teacher website on Blogger/Blogspot. She wanted to keep her current colors, but update the look and move to WordPress.

Branding Process
Initially, Rissa thought she wanted to use only her pinks and teal with black. She suggested two fonts she liked and sent a couple doodle style hearts to try. I used those suggestions, plus a few of my own, to create her initial header options.
After seeing the initial drafts (left), she realized she did want to use all of her previous colors. She also wanted to keep “Heart of Florida” together. This is led to the second set of headers (right).

It is ALWAYS easier to decide what you do and don’t like after seeing examples, so revisions are always part of the process. Rissa wanted to rearrange fonts and her final header was born, with just a minor revision in character spacing.

After that, a similar process is used to create any other matching homepage graphics.

WordPress Teacher Blog
In the end, Rissa received a beautiful new website to impact teachers and students. Her previous Blogger blog will automatically forward to her new WordPress website.
We also moved her newsletter from MailChimp to MailerLite, configured a welcome series, and set up an automatic weekly email for new blog posts too.
