Joyce initially contacted me to build a store on her existing WordPress teacher website. After the install of her new store, she opted to update her entire website with a new theme and a more functional homepage. Before
First, let’s take a look at the website before I started. This was a very popular layout when the teacher-blogger community began to transition from blog layouts to website layouts. It had a few promo boxes with popular links and then displayed recent posts.

The goal was to update her WordPress teacher website with a more website-focused design that would call attention to everything she has to offer, not just blog posts. The new homepage highlights her email list, quick links to popular topics, featured products, recent posts, popular posts, YouTube videos, and her bio. The layout makes it really easy for visitors to find what they’re looking for and stumble on something new too.
Her core website pages also received a refresh.
The blog archive pages are easier to navigate in a grid and each single post has a simple sidebar.
Teacher Website Store
I created a new website store with category covers. These provide a visual way for shoppers to find what they’re looking for at-a-glance. A custom shop sidebar filter also helps shoppers narrow down by price.
Each single product provides all the information shoppers need and highlights related products to keep them browsing.
