Strategy Session: Local SEO and Website Messaging

Bridget purchased my WooCommerce course and learned so much from that investment that she decided to book a one-on-one strategy session. She had a website filled with valuable information about her dyslexia therapy services, but she wanted to make sure it was actually working to help families find and choose her in search results.

Instead of starting over with a redesign (which was out of budget right now), we worked together through an SEO Strategy Session to strengthen her messaging, site structure, local SEO, and client journey. With strategic changes to key pages throughout her site, I helped Bridget shift from simply sharing information about her business to clearly showing families how she can help their struggling readers.

Services Used:

Before working with Christi, I knew my website had potential, but I couldn’t figure out why my traffic wasn’t turning into buyers. Christi’s website audit completely changed my approach. She looked past the surface and provided a clear, strategic map of exactly where my messaging and navigation were falling short. Thanks to her expert eye, I now have an actionable checklist to fix my positioning, clear up my user journey, and confidently turn visitors into customers. She is truly the ultimate behind-the-scenes business bestie!

About Strategy Sessions

Strategy Sessions are personalized, one-on-one sessions designed around your specific business, goals, and challenges. Before we meet, you’ll complete a questionnaire so I can dig into your business and prepare customized recommendations. Then we’ll spend an hour together on Zoom working through your priorities and creating clear, actionable next steps.

Sessions can focus on website strategy, SEO, email marketing, systems and organization, or other areas where you need an experienced second set of eyes. You’ll also receive a recording of our call and follow-up support as you begin putting your strategy into action.

How Bridget’s Strategy Session Worked

1. I completed her personalized audit.
I dug into Bridget’s website, SEO, messaging, site structure, and goals to create detailed, actionable recommendations specific to her business.

2. Bridget reviewed + implemented.
I sent the audit to Bridget a few days before our call so she had time to digest my recommendations, implement the changes she felt comfortable making on her own, and flag anything she wanted to discuss further.

3. We met one-on-one.
During our 1-hour Zoom session, we reviewed the changes she had already made, talked through her questions, fine-tuned areas that needed additional attention, and identified her next priorities.

4. She left with clear next steps.
After our call, Bridget had an updated action plan for continuing to strengthen her SEO, website content, and overall strategy. She also received follow-up email support as she continued implementing.

Homepage Before/After

I coached Bridget to shift her homepage from broad, feel-good messaging to clear positioning that immediately tells parents what she offers, who it’s for, and where she serves. We also reworked her navigation to prioritize her core Dyslexia Therapy service (and make important next steps easier to find!), strengthened her calls to action, and brought more relevant expertise forward.

The most visible strategic changes:

  • More specific hero: “Helping children reach their full potential” becomes “Offering Dyslexia Therapy in Fontana and Rancho Cucamonga, CA.” That sacrifices some of the warmer brand language in favor of immediately answering what she does + where she does it, which is much stronger for both qualified visitors and local search.
  • Clearer service positioning: “In-Home Dyslexia Therapy” becomes “Mobile Dyslexia Therapy” and the service area is tightened to the locations she actually wants to emphasize.
  • Stronger conversion path: the new “Schedule a Free Consultation Today” CTA appears immediately after the problem/solution section, rather than relying primarily on smaller “Learn More” buttons.
  • More parent/problem-focused copy: the revised section explicitly connects failed traditional tutoring with the need for specialized dyslexia therapy, helping parents recognize, “This is for my child.”
  • More relevant authority/content: the featured article shifts from generic homework tips to “Unlocking Literacy: Understanding and Supporting Working Memory in Reading Instruction,” which better reinforces her expertise and positioning.
  • Cleaner navigation/offer emphasis: the after version makes Dyslexia Therapy a primary navigation item and adds a direct Contact route, making the business purpose easier to understand.

About Page Before/After

I coached Bridget to transform her About page from a credentials-focused résumé into a client-focused story that builds connection and trust. We led with the “why” behind her work, connected her personal experience to the struggles her ideal families are facing, translated her expertise into reasons parents should choose her, and added clear next steps throughout the page.

A few specific strategy wins:

  • Story before résumé: Instead of immediately leading with certifications and professional affiliations, the new page introduces “Behind the Struggle is a Bright Child Waiting to Read.” That gives parents an emotional entry point into her story.
  • Credentials are translated into value: The new “Why I Can Help Your Family” and “Bringing Elite, Clinical Therapy to Your Doorstep” sections explain why her training matters to the parent rather than simply displaying a list of qualifications.
  • The reader is brought into the page: Headings like “Let’s Transform Your Child’s Reading Journey Together” and “Ready to see your child thrive?” move the page from about Bridget to about what working with Bridget could mean for your family.
  • Testimonials move higher: Social proof now appears before the long credential/badge section, so parents encounter other families’ experiences before being asked to digest professional qualifications.
  • There is an actual conversion path: The before page has essentially no meaningful next step. The after page introduces consultation CTAs after the core narrative and again after testimonials.
  • Credentials still exist—they’re just in the right hierarchy: This is important. I didn’t tell her to eliminate her impressive qualifications, but coached her to stop making them the main story. Now they’re supporting evidence farther down the page.

Service Page Before After

I coached Bridget to turn a dense pricing page into a true service page that helps parents make a buying decision. We clarified who she helps, explained the value of her specialized approach, translated her credentials into meaningful differentiators, simplified her services into easy-to-compare packages, and added strategic CTAs and social proof.

A few especially good before/after points:

  • “Pricing” becomes “Dyslexia Therapy.” This is a huge strategic difference. Pricing becomes one component of the service page rather than the entire purpose of it.
  • Added “Who I Help.” Parents can quickly self-identify instead of trying to determine whether Bridget’s service applies to their situation.
  • Added “A Structured Approach Designed for Results.” The methodology is now explained in terms of what the client actually receives: diagnostic lesson prep, direct intervention, parent collaboration, predictable cycles, etc.
  • “Why Choose a CALT?” replaces credential dumping. Again, she’s translating qualifications into why they matter when choosing a provider.
  • Packages became scannable: The before version buries the options in long text. The after version visually distinguishes Virtual Intensive / Small Group Virtual / In-Home Intensive, with price, frequency, scope, and CTA.
  • The new group option broadens the offer ladder: There’s now a lower-priced entry point alongside the individual options.
  • Social proof appears at the decision point: A strong parent testimonial immediately follows the packages instead of testimonials living only elsewhere on the site.
  • Extraneous content was removed: Insurance and generic blog links no longer distract someone who is actively evaluating therapy.

Additional Strategy Across the Site

Beyond these individual pages, we worked on the bigger picture to make the entire website easier for both potential clients and search engines to understand.

I coached Bridget to:

  • Strengthen her local SEO strategy, including dedicated city pages with more unique, locally relevant content.
  • Set up and use Google Search Console so future SEO decisions can be based on actual search data rather than guessing at keywords.
  • Create clearer separation between her different audiences and offers, including dyslexia therapy, parent workshops, and professional development. She also decided to eliminate offers and niche down.
  • Improve internal linking between related services, location pages, and educational content.
  • Standardize important business and service-area information across her website and online presence.
  • Use her blog more strategically to build topical authority, answer questions potential clients are already asking, and lead readers naturally toward her services.
  • Build more trust and social proof throughout the site, with a longer-term plan for a dedicated testimonials/results page.
  • Plan for future growth, including additional supporting content, stronger conversion paths, and eventually a website redesign that better showcases the much stronger strategy and messaging now in place.
