Lexi had a DIY WordPress website and branding started, but was referred to me when she was ready for some help. She needed a cohesive, professional place to share her TeachersPayTeachers resources and private practice information. Her entire speech WordPress website design and branding package took one week from start to finish!
Services Used:
I tried to create a WordPress website myself for a month before finally deciding to hire Christi. I’m very much a DIY-er and really believed I could figure it out. After a month of being ready to pull my hair out figuring out the different aspects, I finally caved & decided to hire out. The best decision ever. Christi was thorough, helpful and I LOVE my brand and logo. She saved me easily months of work and my website is so beautifully designed. It looks professional, clean and is engaging for people who visit it. I’m thrilled. She even made me a simple tutorial video so I can update some things myself going forwards (above & beyond!). Thank you for everything Christi, I hope we can work together again in the future!!

Before
First, this is Lexi’s website and branding before we started. When looking at her website “above the fold” she had a lot of lost real estate. She also said she preferred an earthier palette using sage green and something more recognizable as speech-focused.

Branding Process
Lexi wanted a simpler main font with a script or handwritten accent font. I sent several initial options to get a feel for her style.

Once she selected several potential fonts, these were her first drafts.

Lexi quickly narrowed down her favorites to #2 and #4. She thought she preferred the fonts from #2, but the clip art from #4. With that feedback, here are her first revisions.

She chose 2B, so then we moved on to the matching round alt logo.

Speech WordPress Website Design Process
Because Lexi didn’t have a staging site available, I put her site in a custom “coming soon” mode while I built the website. Her old website went down on Friday and the new site was back up on Tuesday!

Here’s a look at the new homepage. It contains more information that her previous website and is designed to convert readers into subscribers by opting in to her free library. It also highlights her private practice and TeachersPayTeachers shop.

The free library has an opt-in where users sign up for her email list to receive the password.

Once inside the library, they have free access to a growing library of freebies.

We also added a pop-up to encourage conversions!

Lexi’s new about page helps build the “know, like, trust” factor and shares her personal journey.

Lexi’s new private practice page shares important information and invites parents to contact her.

Overall, Lexi received a beautiful new website that should grow with her business for a long time to come. Contact me to learn more if you need your own speech WordPress website design.
