Nancy was referred to me because she needed help with her outdated teacher blog design from 2014. She had a vision in mind for her new branding and also needed a new WordPress theme to go with it. She also received a shiny new free resource library and assistance with new email marketing.
As a teacher myself, education bloggers are always close to my heart. I loved getting to design this fun new site to help Nancy share her gifts with our teacher friends.

First, in order to truly appreciate the difference a makeover can make, here’s a look at Nancy’s site before. This was a much older WordPress design so her new site will not only have a fresh new look, but also new mobile responsiveness.

Nancy also sent inspiration for her new branding:

With her inspiration and goals in mind, I designed this first set of headers for feedback.

She narrowed her options down to #1 and #3. Noting that she prefers capital letters and a few other feedback notes, here’s the second round. Logo #1B ended up being the winner, with just two subtle tweaks. Did you catch them?

After the header is in place, it’s time to make the matching items. Here’s a look at a few of the coordinating round logo options.

We also looked at several options for promo boxes. Nancy wanted to use graphics here instead of stock photos, so I sent a few options that would match the work already completed.

Finally, I also installed a new password protected free resource library.

In the end Nancy’s new site is fresh and fun on the outside, but also packed with SEO features, security, spam protection, etc. under the hood.
